At A news Conference this date, House Majority Leader Ric Cantor and Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, both Republicans spoke about new drafted legislation in the House that would officer citizenship to certain immigrants brought to U.S. as children. No details yet as it is in Goodlatte's Committee holding hearings next week. Cantor says: "These in many instances are kids without a country if we don't allow them to become full citizens of our country," Cantor said. "It is not only an issue of fairness, as the speaker said, it's an issue of decency and compassion. Where else would these kids go?"
There is little information on how the House will come up with a solution for 11 million immigrants already in the U.S. who eventually would get citizenship in the Senate Bill proposal. Boehner said, " "It's too early to predict what we will or won't do."
