Oct 4, 2013: Ariz. Sen. Flake NOT IN Congress to vote against "cloture" (anony. sender)

FYI -- Just got this from Flake-- who was NOT in Congress to vote against "cloture". If he really wanted to "control Congress' spending problem" he would not have been a member of the "Gang of 8"
(According to reports, McFlake was absent due to a previous commitment - i.e. His Son's Wedding! - JLS)

NAME OMITTED

I wanted to give you an update on my efforts to delay and repeal Obamacare, as well as my work to control Congress' spending problem.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Jeff Flake
U.S. Senate

FlakeThe Perils of Obamacare

I have opposed Obamacare from the beginning and have voted to repeal all or parts of this legislation more than 30 times.

Earlier this month, I introduced S. 1490, a bill that would delay the implementation of Obamacare for one year. The president has already decided to delay the employer mandate - doesn’t it make sense to delay the rest as well?

Let's delay 'Obamacare' for a year, so we can kill it

Earlier this week, Rep. Marsha Blackburn and I wrote an op-ed for the Arizona Republic about Obamacare. An excerpt from the op-ed is below, click here to read the entire article:
With the Obama administration's decisions to delay several parts of the health-care law, including the employer mandate, it is clear that even the White House now recognizes what the rest of America already knows: Obamacare is a train wreck.

Businesses small and large across our states have shared stories about the burdens Obamacare is placing on them. Couple that with the most recent jobs numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and it is difficult not to conclude that Obamacare is having a dampening effect on the country's economy.

The Washington Spending Problem

It comes as no shock that spending in Washington continues to be out of control. In Congress I fought back against earmarks and in the Senate I am continuing my fight. This week the Wall Street Journal praised my work to stop runaway spending. An excerpt from the editorial is below, click here to read the entire editorial:
The exceptions are Republican Senators Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and Jeff Flake of Arizona, a pair of genuine fiscal conservatives who are sounding the alarm on this fiscal jail break. House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had better pay attention or the hard-fought budget victories of 2011 will vanish in this year's fiscal showdown.
