New App helps concerned citizens track child predators, pornographers

CREATED Sep. 16, 2013

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations office has launched a new APP to help parents and concerned citizens keep watch for child predators and rescue children from sex abuse and exploitation.
The Operation Predator APP allows people to see those who have active arrest warrants and others who are considered to be "John Does" whose photos have been captured from child pornography sites.

The APP allows people to remain anonymous and call in tips about the locations of suspects. In the first 36 hours the APP was in operation this weekend, police were able to use a tip to find and arrest a suspect they had been trying to track.
The free APP is only available for I-Phones now, but should be expanded to include Android devices in the near future.
