Apparently only 13 states currently meet the standards for the REAL ID Act of 2005 (AZ and NM not among them). DHS is giving a “temporary deferment” to states that don’t meet the standards to allow their identifications to be accepted. They’re working on a schedule for phased enforcement, and until that schedule is published, identification from all states will be accepted.
