SAN JUAN — Police officers responding to a call of a burglary in progress discovered 102 people suspected of illegal immigration being held at a stash house.
Police officers were called to the 1600 block of Coconut Palm after neighbors observed people coming out of windows, police Chief Juan Gonzalez said.

When authorities arrived they found the group of immigrants cramped in the residence and called U.S. Border Patrol and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter to assist.
The immigrants were turned over to Border Patrol, Gonzalez said.
The San Juan Police Department’s stash house unit continues to investigate the case and is working on identifying the ringleaders of the human smuggling organization, he said.
