Rob Krentz Malpai Border Lands Scholarship Announced (May 26, 2013)

Zane Webster a senior at San Simon High School received the ROB KRENTZ/ MALPAI BORDERLANDS GROUP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, Thursday evening , May 16th, at San Simon High School graduation. He is the son of Todd and Lesti Webster of San Simon. He also has a brother Jake and a sister Anna.


Webster will attend Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma where we will be a member of the livestock judging team and majoring in agriculture education and communication. .
Webster is very active in many activities including FFA and 4-H. He volunteers in many activities including cleaning up the local cemetery helping with recreation at the V action Bible School and working events at the youth rodeos. He also hosts judging clinics to help kids improve their judging skills and giving reasons. His favorite time is able to teach others about the importance of Agriculture. He also won the Arizona Cowbelles Beef Speech Contest by telling the beef story.

Krentz , congratulated Zane on receiving the scholarship noting that Rob would be very proud of his attachments She also thanked the community for their support of the calf sale that supports this scholarship, which is hosted at the Willcox Livestock Auction. The scholarship is for $2,000.00 a year for all four years a $1,000 a semester. At the present time this scholarship has been awarded to two students Roger Elias from Animas who majored in Diesel Mechanics and Taylor Franklin from Valley Union who is in her second year in Nursing at Pima Community College.
